Remote | Part-Time | Long-Term Position – Video editor

We are looking for a talented, creative, highly organized Photo & Video Editor / Digital Archivist / Family Travel Content Manager to help transform a very large professional and family travel photography archive into beautiful photo books, engaging travel content, and commercially valuable digital assets.

This is not simply a social-media posting position. We are looking for someone who loves photography, storytelling, travel, organization, and beautiful design and wants to take long-term ownership of an extensive visual archive.

About the Photography Collection

Our archive contains 250,000+ photographs and videos spanning family life, travel, wildlife, destinations, landmarks, museums, historical sites, and professional photography.

The photographer is an award-winning professional photographer whose work has received recognition in the United States and internationally.

A major goal of this position is to make sure these photographs don’t simply remain stored on hard drives. We want to preserve our family’s memories while also identifying images and video with commercial, editorial, tourism, educational, and stock potential.

Primary Responsibilities:

*Photo Organization & Digital Archiving

Continue organizing and curating an archive of 250,000+ photographs and videos.

Sort photographs by trip, destination, date, subject, event, and other useful categories.

Identify duplicates, poor-quality images, and the strongest photographs.

Maintain a logical and searchable digital archive.

Add appropriate metadata, descriptions, captions, and keywords.

Identify historically or personally significant photographs that should receive priority.

*Photo & Video Editing

Professionally edit selected photographs.

Color correct, crop, straighten, retouch, and prepare images for their intended use.

Edit travel and family videos.

Create short-form vertical videos/reels from existing footage.

Select the strongest photographs and clips without needing every choice dictated.

Maintain a natural, professional photographic style rather than excessive filters or artificial-looking edits.

*Weekly Family Photo Books

One of the most important responsibilities is creating at least one completed, print-ready family photo book each week.

Books should be:

Beautifully designed

Fun and visually interesting

Well organized

Embellished appropriately

Written with engaging captions and storytelling

Historically and geographically accurate

Ready to upload/order through Shutterfly or another approved photo-book service

These books will document our children’s lives, family experiences, and extensive travels.

This is a major performance expectation of the position.

*Travel Content & Storytelling

Help create destination-first travel content using our extensive travels throughout the United States, Canada, and other destinations.

Responsibilities may include:

Creating travel posts and reels

Writing destination-focused captions

Researching locations, wildlife, history, museums, attractions, and landmarks when necessary

Using photographs of signs, exhibits, and informational displays from our travels as source material for accurate storytelling

Creating educational travel content

Developing content that is useful and interesting to other traveling families

Our public travel content should focus primarily on destinations and experiences, while protecting children’s identifying and private information.

*Photography & Content Monetization

Help develop the archive into an income-producing digital asset.

Responsibilities include identifying commercially viable photographs and videos, preparing them appropriately, writing descriptions and keywords, and uploading them to approved platforms.

Comfortable researching unfamiliar destinations and subjects

Able to tell a story visually

Interested in travel, wildlife, history, and photography

Able to work independently

Comfortable making creative decisions

Reliable with weekly deliverables

Interested in a long-term position

Experience with Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Canva, video-editing software, photo-book design, digital asset management, social media, or stock photography is highly desirable.

You do not need to know every platform already. We value someone who can learn quickly and take ownership.

Schedule

Part-time, remote, flexible, and results-based.

We care more about consistently completed, high-quality work than requiring someone to sit online during a particular schedule.

Because this position involves large files, applicants should have reliable high-speed internet and access to a computer capable of professional photo and video editing.

Compensation

Base compensation: $125 USD per week

Additional opportunities include:

Up to $20/week quality/performance bonus related to completed photo-book work

Revenue share of approximately 10–20% on qualifying revenue generated from approved photography/content monetization activities

Specific revenue-sharing terms will depend on the type of revenue generated.
