Farm Manager

The Farm Manager is responsible for the end-to-end oversight of farm operations, from land development and planting to production and delivery efficiency. This role ensures the farm meets production targets through strategic budgeting, rigorous crop maintenance, and effective resource management. The Farm Manager will lead a diverse team, ensuring high-quality output, cost-effectiveness, and strict adherence to health, safety, and agricultural standards.

Responsibilities

1. Farm Development & Production

• Oversee land preparation, including clearing, staking, and seedling management for planting/replanting.
• Manage the full production cycle to hit volume targets while maintaining quality and cost-efficiency.
• Establish harvesting/tapping cycles and optimize in-field hauling routes to ensure timely delivery to mills.
• Conduct bunch census and farm profiling to evaluate the effectiveness of fertilization and maintenance programs.

2. Operations & Resource Management

• Prepare and manage annual farm budgets and development timelines.
• Maintain oversight of all farm equipment, infrastructure, and livestock (horses), ensuring strict preventive maintenance schedules.
• Manage inventory for tools and supplies to prevent operational delays.
• Identify and mitigate agricultural risks, utilizing problem-solving tools to investigate and resolve incidents.

3. Leadership & People Management

• Lead and mentor supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
• Conduct regular team and toolbox meetings to discuss safety, progress, and operational training.
• Oversee performance management and workforce planning, including the hiring and delegation of manpower.

4. Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and analyze progress reports to identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions.
• Enforce strict health and safety protocols and ethical standards across all farm activities.
• Coordinate with Mill QC and Logistics teams to streamline the supply chain and improve product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or equivalent. Licensed will be an advantage.

• Additional course in business or administration are recommended.

• Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in a farming-related field.

• Management experience would be a plus.
