Job Description

Responsible for the technical health, efficiency, and optimization of production machinery. This role bridges the gap between daily operations and high-level process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Maintenance & Reliability: Lead the design and execution of maintenance strategies, including routine scheduled work and emergency breakdown repairs.
Technical Optimization: Optimize and standardize manufacturing processes such as stamping, modelling, and assembly to maximize quality and output.
Process Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and structured problem-solving to reduce cycle times and manufacturing costs.
Documentation: Develop and maintain critical technical documentation, including standard work instructions, process sheets, and machine check sheets.
Tooling & Design: Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and cell layouts to support efficient production runs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with departments like Purchasing for spare parts procurement and Quality Assurance for root cause analysis of failures.

Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
Experience: Typically requires at least 1.5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in high-speed or high-precision sectors.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for mechanical analysis and design.
Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and ERP systems.
Knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and APQP tools like DFMEA/PFMEA.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills (English; Nihongo proficiency is a plus for Japanese firms).
